Bronte Child Care Centre has a well established undercover area but the impact attenuation needs replacing. Some of the existing trees are disrupting the impact attenuation surface - the fraxinus and the casuarina have been approved for removal. The existing equipment will be removed to establish a natural playspace to compliment the more formal areas. The existing sandpit will be converted into a brick amphitheatre with fern garden. A new sandstone edged sandpit will be built to include a small creek to feed the wet end of the sandpit. Adjacent will be an open plan cubby and memorial native garden. The existing planter will be raised to accommodate all abilities access to gardening. A row of advanced, deciduous fruit / shade trees will be planted on the norther boundary to provide shade in summer but allow sun in during winter. And new recycled rubber coated mound will be installed with a dual slide to allow for some level change and create a fun exit from the natural playspace back into the order and formality of the artificial surface areas.
